Christmas Shopping Parent's Day Out

Christmas is right around the corner and the busiest shopping day of the year, the day after Thanksgiving. We can't help you pick out Uncle Joe's present or figure out what to get your mother, but we can give you the time to get the job done. Drop the kids off at Barons Creek Club for a day full fun and excitement. We have all kinds of activities lined up for the kids like a tennis carnival, scavenger hunt, fitness, crafts, movies, etc..... A nutritious lunch will be provided for the kids. You can drop your kids off for the duration of the event or you can schedule particular hours. Oh Yeah!!! You heard it hear first! Barons Creek has a weekend of fun set up for the kids on November 14th & 15th. Friday will be "Parent's Night Out"! Drop your kids off with Pros at Barons Creek and enjoy a night out on the town. While you are out, the kids will be participating in tennis carnival, roasting marshmellows, doing scharades, watch a movie...etc. Cost for this event is $20/mem, $25/non....NO YOU DONT NEED TO ADJUST YOUR SCREeN! That is Dinner, fun and supervision for about $5.00/hr (there are discounts for parents with more than one child). Register by calling 830-997-8433 and talking with Justin or Nicole. This event is for ages 4-12years.

Friends for FREE for Junior Programs Week

If you are already in the Barons Creek Junior Programming, this post is an invitation for you to bring a friend to court next week for FREE! Do you know someone that plays tennis and might enjoy coming to the courts with you? Bring them for FREE as your guest on the week of November 10th-16th.

We need your help to grow our programs to all new levels. This growth is designed to help everyone involved improve their games. In the Spring we will be going to a fully tiered junior program. To do that we need about 8-15 new players across the board to join our ranks. These new players are fresh blood to the tennis program give our players more options when it comes to practice matches and drilling.

Tell everyone you know with a tennis racquet that has a desire to play the game!

Junior Varsity and Freshman Drill Part II

That's right! Barons Creek is bringing it with a second day of drill and matches for the Junior Varsity and Freshman players. Joing the pros ont the courts at Barons creek from 1:30-3:00pm on Sundays for a second day of drilling for our High Schoolers. Prices are $12/mem/session and $15/non/session. There are no excuses now! Get out to the courts and lets build a winning game together.

Junior Varsity and Freshman Drill: Tuesdays 5-7pm

Barons Creek is excited about its new drill session for junior players on the Freshman Team and Junior Varsity for Fredericksburg High School. Come out and join Justin, Nicole and Ernest for a one hour drill session followed by one hour of coached matchplay. This groups focus is on accuracy, shot production and competitive matchplay. Call the club to let us know you will be there 830-997-8433. Cost is $15/player/mem and $20/player/non.

Tournament Training Junior Developement

Barons Creek Club is implimenting a new tier to its junior tennis developement. Tournament Training is an essential part of learning the game of tennis. Most players learn the game so that they can begin to compete on some level such as local tournaments, school teams, USTA (United States Tennis Association) or even among friends. Tournament Training will help prepare players to perform in the competitive arena.

Tournament Trainers will learn match strategy, shot selection, accuracy and mental toughness while still polishing stroke production and mechanics. Tournament Trainers are those players who have basic mechanics and strokes, but are looking to play more competitive tennis.

The Pros at Barons Creek would like invite players from the 5th to 8th Grade to join us for an intense and focused tennis group that will begin to prepare you for the battles ahead. Barons Creek Junior Tournament

Barons Creek Club is hosting its Fall Junior Tournament this weekend. We have had a fair amount of entrees so the courts should be pretty active this weekend. Make sure to make a reservation if you need a court for play on Saturday or Sunday.

Tournament Training

Barons Creek Junior Tennis is taking a step forward to help its' players to improve to the tournament level. Players that have aspirations of becoming competitve in school tennis, USTA play or even local tournaments are invited to particpate in the Tournament Training Program. This program will focus on stroke production, position & balance and learning to impliment strategy in matchplay. Players from the 5th-8th grade that are getting more serious about their tennis are invited to join Nicole, Justin and Ernest for Tournament Training.

Schedule: 6-7:30pm Wednesday & Thursday - Drills, Mechanics and Stroke Production
3-4:30pm Sunday - Drills, Strategy & Match Situations

Adult Mixer "Meet the Pro"

Come out and meet our newest professional addition, Justin Cobb on Nov. 7th from 5:30-7:30pm during our "Meet the Pro" Mixer. We will serving up brats and drinks as well as a Tag Team Timed Tennis format. This event is sure to be a blast. Feel free to BYOB and all levels are invited.

New Tennis Pro at Barons Creek Club

Hello Barons Creek members. My name is Justin Cobb and I have just taken a position of teaching professional at Barons Creek Club. I born and raised in San Angelo, TX. and have only recently moved to Fredericksburg. I absolutely love this town and the hill country as it is gorgeous compairable to whare I am from.

So you may be asking yourself, "Who is this new guy?" Let me start by saying that I am a tennis pro with 18 years of teaching experience in the country club industry. I have coached players from 4 years to 90 years old and thousands in between. I have coached beginners, intermediate and advance players. I have developed players from the grass roots all the way to collegiate scholarships. I have taught in Austin at the Courtyard Tennis and Swim Club, Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Bentwood Country Club in San Angelo, John Newcombe's Tennis Ranch and College Hills Swim and Racquet. I am also a former Divison I collegiate scholarship player.

All that mumbo jumbo aside.....I love the sport of tennis and love teaching it to others no matter their age or skill level. Tennis has been good to be throughout the years and at this point I don't see ever giving it up. I am very excited to be a part of Barons Creek Club here in Fredericksburg and I hope to grow junior and adult programs to new levels. I have many new ideas for the club and its' programs so keep your eyes open for some fun and exciting new events and leagues.
